“Today, the United States blew past another shocking milestone: 9 million coronavirus infections.
“Eight months into this crisis, the US continues to lead the world, maintaining 20 percent of the cases and deaths despite having only 4 percent of the world’s population. The severity of this crisis is a direct result of Donald Trump’s refusal to get the virus under control.
“Since the first case was discovered in America, Trump has only made matters worse by undermining his own experts, downplaying the severity of the virus at every opportunity, and failing to encourage the most basic mitigation efforts like wearing masks and social distancing. In every decision, Trump treated Americans as disposable and more people got sick and died as a result.
“Every single one of these 9 million cases is proof that Donald Trump is a colossal failure who put his own political priorities ahead of the health and safety of Americans.”
