In response to the proposal released by the 10 GOP senators trying to water down the popular, robust Biden American Rescue Plan, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:
“This latest proposal from Senate Republicans would be considered a joke if the consequences of short changing the American people during this national emergency weren’t so dire.
“President Biden has laid out a proposal that will begin to clean up the mess left by the Trump Administration by fixing vaccine distribution, providing relief to families by sending them direct checks, helping small businesses weather the storm and providing aid to states that will keep health care workers and teachers on the job.
“Despite its overwhelming support from the American people, Senate Republican are clearly intent on cutting up the American Rescue Plan beyond recognition – nickel and diming American families desperately trying to get through this difficult time and trying to hold on until it’s possible to receive a vaccination.
“It’s outrageous and just another example that Republicans aren’t serious about working with the Biden Administration to address this national emergency.”
