COVID-19 Deaths in MN Increased Nearly 90% in Last Two Weeks

100K+ Minnesotans Have Been Infected, 1000+ Have Died of COVID-19 Since Pence Declared the Pandemic Was Over in June

As Mike Pence brings the Donald Trump Keep America Sick tour to Minnesota, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:

“As an outbreak rips through his staff, Mike Pence has been forced to cancel his plans to preside over a Senate confirmation vote after pushback that he was endangering members. Yet, he’s still willing to endanger Minnesotans by moving forward with another crowded, maskless super-spreader rally despite his exposure to the virus.

“Pence’s decision to appear at an in-person event in a state with skyrocketing cases is an insultingly reckless move by the supposed leader of the White House Coronavirus Task Force.

“Minnesota is facing a worsening outbreak amid a dire national third wave caused by the failures of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s pandemic response. The latest spike in outbreaks is a direct result of their insistence on downplaying the virus, undercutting experts, and flouting social distancing measures.

“But Pence, like Trump, doesn’t care that these rallies make the situation worse, risk lives, and leave a trail of outbreaks in their wake if it means that his boss gets the adoration he wants. Instead of headlining a dangerous rally, Mike Pence should be in quarantine like CDC guidelines recommend.”
