U.S. On Pace to Vaccinate Half of All Adults This Week As President Biden’s Continues to Hit Key Milestones to Defeat Pandemic Less Than 100 Days Into Office

By April 14, 2021No Comments

This week the U.S. is expected to hit the critical milestone of vaccinating half of all adults. In just the last week, President Biden has delivered over 150 million American Rescue Plan direct checks and vaccinated well over 150 million Americans before his first 100 days in office. In response to President Biden continuing to hit these critical milestones, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Spokesperson Michael Feldman issued the following statement:

“No matter how you spin it, President Biden is delivering on his promises to follow the science and get shots in arms and direct checks to families at a record pace. Week after week, President Biden clears critical milestones to defeat the pandemic, and with the U.S. on pace to vaccinate half of all adults in the next few days, it’s clear that he is committed to getting the country out of this crisis. President Biden’s American Rescue Plan is delivering the resources necessary to hit this goal and has already gotten direct checks to over 150 million Americans well before his first 100 days in office.

“From day one, President Biden has made clear he will follow the science, listen to the public health experts and push through a bold agenda to get our economy back and defeat this pandemic, and so far he has delivered on all fronts. Republican efforts to obstruct and downplay his success are simply admitting their failure to support President Biden’s widely popular American Rescue Plan and response effort that continues to put shots in arms and money in pockets.”

U.S. approaches major milestone in COVID-19 vaccination campaign

Blair Miller // April 13, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The White House predicts nearly half of all adults in the United States will have received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine by the end of this week.

Americans are celebrating potentially lifesaving shots in the fight against COVID-19, but top medical experts continue to emphasize the importance of wearing face masks.

“I’m ready to get back to living my life so that will be exciting,” said Brady White of Commerce City, Colorado.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said as of Monday, around 121 million people had gotten one shot.

That’s 36% of the population.

The CDC reports more than 74 million Americans are fully vaccinated.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Biden, is asking people to stay the course by getting vaccinated and not focusing on herd immunity.

“We’ve made estimates that is somewhere between 70 and 85%, but we don’t know that as a fact, so rather than concentrating on an elusive number, let’s get as many people vaccinated as quickly as we possibly can,” he said.

Fauci said he would now be comfortable eating outdoors at a restaurant or going to a baseball game, but he recommends wearing a mask.
