In response to reports that Donald Trump yet again attacked the nation’s leading expert combatting the coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on a call with his campaign staff, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“It should come as no surprise that Trump is continuing to attack the nation’s leading coronavirus expert, a career public servant who has been receiving death threats from supporters of the president.
“From the first days of the pandemic, he has sought to undermine any expert working to keep people alive and our economy running.
“Trump referred to these heroes as ‘idiots.’ But the only one displaying idiotic behavior is President Trump, who chose to downplay the danger and hold large in-person, mask-free rallies while the United States careened toward more than 220,000 deaths and 8.1 million cases.
“On Election Day, that’s the only thing voters will be thinking about.”
