In response to reports that Donald Trump will be bringing back the daily coronavirus briefings starting tomorrow, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:
“Donald Trump is a serial misinformer who has used these so-called briefings exclusively to lie to the American people about his coronavirus response in a misguided attempt to boost his reelection campaign. In the past, this backfired in spectacular fashion as he exposed his incompetence by encouraging viewers to inject themselves with disinfectant and made outrageous claims that tests were plentiful.
“So if these newly announced briefings are anything like what we’ve seen from Trump — and we have every reason to believe they will be — they will not only endanger more lives and do more harm than good to his political prospects.
“The American people don’t want or need Trump to stroke his fragile ego on live TV. They want him to shut up and leave the coronavirus response to the medical experts he’s been ignoring.”

- Approval Of Trump’s Handling Of Coronavirus Has Gone Down Since June. “Approval of Trump’s handling of coronavirus has also gone down — 37% of voters approved and 59% disapproved, according to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll last week. - 67 Percent Of Americans Now Disapprove Of President Trump’s Handling Of The Coronavirus Crisis, A New Low. “Evaluation of Trump’s oversight of the COVID-19 crisis reached a new low since ABC News/Ipsos began surveying on the coronavirus in March, with 67% disapproving of his efforts. - President Trump’s Coronavirus Approval Among Independents Plummeted From 40 Percent In Mid-June To 26 Percent Now. “Trump’s approval among independents lands at 26% in the survey, a sharp drop from 40% in mid-June, the last time the question was asked.
