In response to President-elect Biden speaking at the Lincoln Memorial tonight to honor the 400,000 lives lost to coronavirus, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“It may seem like just another day in Trump’s America. Thousands will lose their fight with coronavirus, 123,000 are in the hospital, and the United States has passed yet another devastating milestone: 400,000 Americans deaths.
“However, one thing is different: we finally have a leader displaying a sense of empathy that has been sorely lacking over the past year. With his speech at the Lincoln Memorial, the American people know that they will finally have a President who leads with compassion and will take this virus — and the pain and suffering it causes — seriously.
“Unfortunately, the road won’t be easy. The Trump administration has done everything in its power to ensure that the incoming Biden Administration will have a difficult time getting the pandemic under control. But, with bold plans to hire over 100,000 public health employees and a pledge to deliver 100 million doses in 100 days, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
“Tonight’s speech is the first step to honoring their memories by crushing the virus.”
