In response to the latest weekly first-time jobless claims plunging to another pandemic-era low of 360,000, Protect Our Care Executive Director Brad Woodhouse issued the following statement:

The economy is already bouncing back to pre-pandemic levels thanks to direct stimulus checks, expanded unemployment insurance, state and local aid keeping essential workers like nurses, firefighters and EMTs on the job, assistance for families struggling to make rent and mortgage payments, monthly child tax credit payments for 90 percent of American families, and robust funding for vaccine distribution.
“Now, Democrats are working overtime to deliver even more relief for the American people by putting historic health care and economic measures in the forthcoming budget resolution. Thanks to President Biden, not only is the end of the pandemic in sight, but we are looking at a bright future ahead.”
