In response to news that President-elect Biden will be rolling out a vaccine distribution plan this week, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“One month into having access to two life-saving vaccines, the United States vaccine distribution is a mess and on its way to being a catastrophic failure if something doesn’t change soon. The sole reason: a complete lack of leadership and resources from the federal government under the direction of Donald Trump
“Despite promising to have 20 million people vaccinated before the end of 2020, the Trump Administration has come nowhere near meeting their own benchmark, leaving states to fend for themselves without guidance or a national plan.
“The good news is that President-elect Joe Biden is already crafting a national distribution plan, setting a course to get the vaccine distribution mess back on track by offering the leadership and resources that have been sorely lacking.
“To be sure, digging the country out of the catastrophic hole left by the Trump Administration’s failed pandemic response will take time. Unfortunately, Biden isn’t starting from scratch; he’s starting with enormous damage to clean up before the work of rebuilding can commence.
“But Biden’s plan will be an important step in the right direction toward getting life back to normal.”
