In response to more than a quarter of a million Americans dying from the coronavirus, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“Each of these quarter of a million dead Americans is a victim of Donald Trump’s selfishness, incompetence, and willingness to put personal political scores ahead of their health and safety.
“For eight long months the Trump Administration and their Republican congressional allies downplayed the danger and lied to the American people as the death toll continued to tick up.
“Now those same politicians are doubling down, doing everything in their power to undermine the response of the incoming Biden Administration by refusing to work with their transition team.
“This is sabotage plain and simple. And if Trump doesn’t reverse course and allow the Biden team to adequately prepare to combat the virus, the additional, needless deaths will be on their hands.
“Trump and his allies already allowed 250,000 Americans to die. It is unconscionable for Donald Trump and his allies to carelessly discard even more people by blocking the Biden Administration from working to get the virus under control.”
