While President Biden Fights to Keep Families Safe, Republicans Continue Their Playbook of Attacking Science and Prolonging the Pandemic
Washington, D.C. – Today, President Biden will deliver a speech outlining the administration’s plans for combating the Omicron surge, including getting more shots in arms, expanding access to testing and treatment, and strengthening hospital readiness. In response, Protect Our Care Chair Leslie Dach issued the following statement:
“President Biden has moved aggressively to protect Americans from the Omicron surge by delivering booster shots and vaccines, providing new COVID-19 treatments and now expanding access to free at-home testing. From day one, President Biden has delivered on his promise to follow the science and tell the truth, and America is more prepared than ever to address the pandemic. Republicans, on the other hand, have remained relentless in their efforts to spread misinformation and fight vaccine requirements and other basic measures to keep families safe. Now, it’s up to Republicans to quit playing politics with people’s lives. If Republicans continue on their present course, it will only prolong this pandemic and undermine our economic recovery.”
