Washington, DC — Today, the Biden administration announced its plan to roll out booster shots for Americans who received Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations. Beginning on September 20th, Americans will be eligible to receive boosters eight months after receiving their second doses. In response, Protect Our Care Executive Director Brad Woodhouse issued the following statement:
“From the very beginning of his presidency, President Biden has put the health and safety of Americans first and has deferred to the science and scientists in the fight against this devastating virus. Booster shots have become a necessity, in part, after countless Republican leaders rejected measures to slow the spread of the virus and fueled vaccine hesitancy, which has contributed to the rapid spread of the Delta variant. We are fortunate to have a leader at the highest level who trusts science and listens to public health experts. Now, Republican leaders must follow suit and work to end this pandemic by getting more shots in arms.
