Over 70 Percent Of Americans Approve Of Biden’s Handling Of The Coronavirus And His Vaccine Distribution Efforts
New polling from ABC News/Ipsos, Gallup, Hill/HarrisX, and Yahoo News/YouGov shows continued, overwhelming support from the majority of Americans for President Biden’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, his vaccine distribution efforts, the economic recovery and his American Rescue Plan.
ABC News: President Biden Has A 72 Percent Approval Rating On His Handling Of The Coronavirus Pandemic. “The president’s approval lands at 72% for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, numerically higher than the 68% of Americans who said the same earlier this month just before Congress passed his $1.9 trillion relief package, his first major legislative achievement. Only 28% disapprove of his response in the poll, which was conducted by Ipsos in partnership with ABC News using Ipsos’ KnowledgePanel.” [ABC News, 3/28/21]
ABC News: 75 Percent Of Americans Approve Of Biden’s Handling Of The Coronavirus Vaccine Distribution. “A significant slice of the country also backs how Biden is handling distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, with 3 in 4 Americans approving. More than one-third of the adult population (35%) has received at least one dose, according to the most recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. On Thursday, Biden opened his first formal press conference as president by pledging to double his initial goal on administering vaccines to 200 million doses by the end of his first 100 days in office.” [ABC News, 3/28/21]
ABC News: 60 Percent Of Americans Approve Of Biden’s Handling Of The Economic Recovery. “A clear majority of Americans (60%) also approve of Biden’s stewardship on repairing the beleaguered economy, which continues to be hobbled by the coronavirus, and nearly 4 in 10 Americans disapprove.” [ABC News, 3/28/21]
Gallup: 63 Percent Of Americans Support The American Rescue Plan. “Sixty-three percent of Americans, according to a Gallup poll conducted March 15-21, approve of the $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill that Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed into law two weeks ago. While receiving nearly unanimous support from Democrats (97%), the legislation enjoys majority support among independents (58%) but scant backing from Republicans (18%).” [Gallup, 3/26/21]
The Hill: President Biden Holds A 60 Percent Overall Approval Rating. “President Biden’s job approval is holding steady after passing the American Rescue Plan, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds. Sixty percent of registered voters in the March 19-22 survey said they approve of the job Biden is doing as president, a slight increase from last week which saw 59 percent support.” [The Hill, 3/25/21]
Yahoo News: Biden’s Approval Rating On COVID And The Approval Rating Of The American Rescue Plan Have Increased Over The Past Two Weeks. “The survey of 1,556 U.S. adults, which was conducted from March 23 to March 25, found that Biden’s approval rating on COVID-19 has climbed 5 percentage points (from 51 percent to 56 percent) over the past two weeks. A near-identical majority of Americans (55 percent) now say they support the administration’s recently passed COVID relief package — up from 52 percent in February — while just a quarter (25 percent) say they oppose it.” [Yahoo News, 3/29/21]
