Michigan Has Seen More Than 120K Cases, Nearly 2000 Deaths Since Pence Declared Pandemic Over In June

In response to Vice President Mike Pence returning the Keep America Sick tour to Wisconsin and Michigan, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:

“On CNN this morning, a Trump campaign spokesperson said the quiet part out loud: they’re not concerned about Mike Pence headlining a maskless, crowded super-spreader rally in COVID hotspot Wisconsin. Why? Because the Vice President has the best doctors who will take care of him.

“The telling comment proved what we already knew: they only care about themselves and their perceived political edge – not the health, safety, or lives of the Wisconsinites and Michiganders who will deal with the potentially deadly consequences of this pandemic.

“Whether it’s the eight months they’ve spent downplaying the danger of the virus, undermining experts, and mocking masks and social-distancing or the head of the White House Coronavirus Task Force himself, Mike Pence, holding dangerous rallies like these – everything this Administration has done has made matters worse.

“When voting comes to end on November 3rd, Wisconsinites and Michiganders won’t forget that Donald Trump and Mike Pence always put themselves before the American people.”
