President Biden Continues to Earn High Marks From the Majority of Americans For His Actions to Defeat the Pandemic
As President Biden approaches his 100th day in office, it’s clear he has made good on several key promises to Americans in his effort to bring an end to the COVID-19 crisis. At the outset of his presidency, President Biden set out to significantly ramp up the vaccine program and take aggressive action to get our economy back on track within his first 100 days. In months since, President Biden has shattered his own vaccine goals at a record pace, and passed the American Rescue Plan, which has delivered direct $1,400 checks and badly needed investments to boost the economy back to pre-pandemic levels.
These actions are already having a significant impact. Thanks to President Biden’s vaccine program, more than half of U.S. adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and thanks to his American Rescue Plan, communities across the country have the funding to get kids back in classrooms, expand unemployment insurance and get people back to work.
President Biden’s actions to defeat the pandemic are working, and as new polls this weekend made clear, they are also wildly popular with the majority of Americans.

CNN: How Biden Anchored His First 100 Days On Two Simple Principles. “But the President can report at the end of his first 100 days in office to a joint session of Congress on Wednesday night that he has successfully embarked on a mission he defined on Inauguration Day to ‘repair,’ ‘restore,’ ‘heal’ and ‘build.’ He promised 100 million vaccines administered in his first 100 days, and delivered 200 million. With a Democratic-controlled Congress, he sent out the $1,400 emergency checks that never arrived under ex-President Donald Trump and a Republican Senate.” [CNN, 4/26/21]
