In response to President Biden’s Plan to broker a partnership between Merck and Johnson & Johnson to ramp up vaccine production, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“By uniting pharmaceutical companies to ramp up vaccine production, President Biden is following through on his promise to the American people to do everything possible to deliver more shots in arms as quickly as possible.
“Today’s announcement is a key step towards ending this crisis, and fixing the catastrophic vaccine distribution failures left behind by the former Trump administration.
“This partnership only increases the pressure on Congress to pass the American Rescue Plan, which provides the vital funds needed to boost the vaccine distribution process.
“Senate Republicans have a choice to make: they can actively hinder the effort to vaccinate Americans and get us out of this crisis, or they can avoid the same mistakes made by their House Republican colleagues and join Democrats to quickly send this critical bill to President Biden’s desk.”
