In response to the United States crossing the devastating milestone of 15 million Americans contracting the coronavirus, Protect Our Care’s Coronavirus War Room Director Zac Petkanas released the following statement:
“Today, the United States churned through another dark milestone, surpassing 15 million Americans who’ve contracted the coronavirus. That means we added another million cases in less than a week.
“The situation across the country is worse than it has ever been. Hospitalizations are skyrocketing, ICUs are overflowing, and doctors and nurses are exhausted after nine long months of battling this virus nonstop.
“The outgoing Trump Administration has fully switched gears from pretending – and failing – to lead the country to sabotaging the incoming Biden Administration by leaving them to deal with the worst situation possible. To make matters worse, Mitch McConnell is still playing obstructionist as Congress slow-walks a bipartisan first-step on COVID relief after more than 200 days of blocking a House bill that would help our economy recover.
“Every single coronavirus case is a reflection of the Trump Administration’s failure to get the virus under control and do the bare minimum to keep people safe. Rather than work to save American lives, Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell, and their allies are determined to continue putting politics before the health and safety of the American people.”
