22 States Reporting Increases in Infections, New Cases Up Nearly 20% From Last Week
COVID-19 Second Leading Cause of Death in US Amid 750+ Lives Lost Daily
…But the Trump Show Must Go On
Coronavirus continues to rage across the United States. Twenty-two states are reporting a rise in infections, while new cases are up nearly 20% from last week. COVID-19 has become the United States’ second leading cause of death, as more than 750 lives are lost daily.
But Donald Trump doesn’t care. He refused to even acknowledge that America just blew past the grim milestone of 200,000 deaths, opting instead to focus on his dangerous super-spreader rallies where thousands of supporters pack together without masks or distancing. In addition to directly endangering the lives of his own voters, President Trump is prolonging this crisis and continuing to place his own political prospects ahead of the wellness of the nation.

- Dr. Christopher Murray, Director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington: “The worst is yet to come. I don’t think perhaps that’s a surprise, although I think there’s a natural tendency as we’re a little bit in the Northern hemisphere summer, to think maybe the epidemic is going away.”
