Today, Marked By COVID co-founder and Protect Our Care advisor Kristin Urquiza, who spoke at the Democratic National Convention last month, released a video statement responding to excerpts released from Bob Woodward’s book.

In released audio, Donald Trump says he wanted to ‘play it down’ in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, despite admitting on the record how dangerous and deadly the virus was.

In the statement, Urquiza cites her father, whom she lost in Arizona in June, and the nearly 200,000 other Americans who’ve needlessly died as a direct result of Donald Trump’s failed pandemic response and effort to intentionally mislead the public.

Full transcript of the video statement:

Hello, my name is Kristin Urquiza, and my dad Mark Urquiza died from COVID-19 on June 30th.

We’re now at September 9th. We’re nearly at two hundred thousand people who have died here in the United States.

We’ve also learned today that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, knew the dangers of the virus as early as January and chose to deliberately downplay the virus as his strategy for mitigating risk.

He chose to lie to the American public and as a result millions of people have become ill and hundreds of thousands have died.

This man, Donald Trump, is unfit for the Office of the Presidency of the United States.
