Here’s the latest, greatest hits of the President getting debunked by his own people:
WHAT TRUMP SAID: “Open the Schools!”
In a tweet this morning, the President said: “Cases up because of BIG Testing! Much of our Country is doing very well. Open the Schools!” [@realDonaldTrump, Aug 3, 2020]

WHAT THE EXPERT SAID: Not so fast!
Dr. Deborah Birx has pushed back on Trump’s rush to reopen schools, saying that the outbreaks must get under control before schools reopen.
In areas with widespread Covid-19 case increases, the cases need to be stopped first before there can be talks about reopening schools safely, Dr. Deborah Birx says https://t.co/3pGNc50xuA pic.twitter.com/qQUK2EPtFO

WHAT TRUMP SAID: Hydroxychloroquine works.
For months, the President has claimed that hydroxychloroquine is effective to combat COVID-19 and has hawked it on Twitter, at press briefings, and in interviews. All the evidence points elsewhere, but the President doubles down and elevates anyone who agrees with him, no matter how outlandish.
WHAT THE EXPERT SAID: “We need to move on from that and talk about what is effective.”
Admiral Brett Giroir, Coronavirus Testing Czar, joined the long list of experts (which includes an official directive from the FDA) to publicly denounce the use of hydroxychloroquine in treating COVID-19. On Meet the Press on Sunday, he said, “We need to “we need to move on from that and talk about what is effective.”

WHAT TRUMP SAID: “If we tested less, there would be less cases.”
In a tweet responding to Dr. Anthony Fauci’s Capitol Hill testimony on Friday, the President claimed that the reason we have more cases than Europe is simply because we’re testing more.
Wrong! We have more cases because we have tested far more than any other country, 60,000,000. If we tested less, there would be less cases. How did Italy, France & Spain do? Now Europe sadly has flare ups. Most of our governors worked hard & smart. We will come back STRONG!

WHAT THE EXPERT SAID: It’s all about the response.
Dr. Anthony Fauci’s testimony explained that Europe has been more effectively combating the virus through more aggressive social distancing, a stricker initial economic shutdown, and more comprehensive testing ability – not that they’ve tested less.
Dr. Fauci explains why the U.S. has continued to see a surge in cases while European countries have seen a sharp decrease.
He says most European countries shut their economy by 95%, while functionally the U.S. only shut its economy down by 50%.https://t.co/pYCjQK5bri pic.twitter.com/IJdQ2Q1zKE
