Over Fifty Organizations Signed On to a Letter Urging Congress to Approve the Funding to Sustain Our Efforts against COVID-19
Washington, DC – As Congress continues to delay funding for COVID-19 prevention, the Coronavirus War Room released a new poll today conducted by Public Policy Polling showing overwhelming support for Congress to approve additional funding to combat COVID-19. The polling, which shows over 60% of Americans support funding to continue access to vaccines, treatments, and tests, demonstrates that people see the urgent necessity of additional resources to continue the fight against the pandemic and prepare for the future. Additionally, over fifty organizations joined together to sign a letter urging Congress to approve the additional funding. Coronavirus War Room Director Nicole Haley released the following statement:
“Americans of all parties and in every community want Congress to approve additional funding for vaccines, treatments and tests for COVID-19. They know their lives and a continued return to normal are in jeopardy if Congress fails to act.
Congress must get to work as swiftly as possible to make sure that our ability to fight against this pandemic remains uninterrupted. It’s now up to Republicans in Congress to do the right thing for their constituents, set aside their political games, and join with Democrats to ensure we can continue on the progress we’ve made and to be fully prepared for the future.”
