The GOP’s Transparent Attacks on Anthony Fauci Are a Clear Attempt to Divert the Blame From Where It Belongs
Washington, DC – Republicans are ramping up their attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci, showing once again that they will stop at nothing in order to prolong the pandemic to score political points. They have no agenda to actually help people move past this pandemic and instead make baseless accusations towards a doctor who has devoted his life to public service. In response to this blatant attempt at a smear campaign, Protect Our Care Chair Leslie Dach released the following statement:
“Dr. Fauci’s COVID-19 agenda has been all about stopping this pandemic and saving lives. By pandering to the most extreme parts of their base to score political points, Republicans are actively working against those goals. The Republicans’ anti-mask, anti-vaccine, and pro-quack cure agenda is the single greatest reason 900,000 Americans have died from this pandemic, and their doubling down will only cause even more tragic and avoidable deaths.”
