USPS Board of Governors Chair Sits On Pro-Trump Super PAC; Postmaster General Won’t Reverse Changes That Slow Down Service That Hurts Vote-By-Mail

Amid a pandemic in which 5.7 million people in the United States have been infected with coronavirus and in which 177,000 have died, the appointment of Trump campaign donor Louis DeJoy to head off the post office has already resulted in slowing down the mail — including delaying vote-by-mail ballots — during a pandemic to help Trump get re-elected.

Here are the key takeaways from today’s hearings with the Postmaster (who can’t even tell you the price of postage):

The Chairman of the USPS Board of Governors Robert Duncan and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy are major Trump, GOP donors. And Duncan is a director of a major pro-Trump Super PAC.

DeJoy claims not to know who ordered massive changes that slowed down service at USPS — nor does he seem to know the price of sending mail.

DeJoy still refuses to return hundreds of mail sorting machines that have been removed across the country — including in 11 swing states.
